Uptrend in cardamom may continue in near term due to good export demand. According to traders, good demand is seeing from foreign country and on the other hand monsoon may also effect on cardamom production. Kerala is major producing centre of cardamom. There is no rain in kerala for long time and due to lack of water the production of cardamom may affect.
According to the farmers of Kerala, There is too shortage of rain water since last three or four months. The plants of cardamom may affect due to lack of huge monsoon. According to them if there is no rain within 15 days, the crop may damaged. On Saturday, the auction price of cardamom noted at Rs. 1073 and lowest price at Rs. 717 per qtl. Seeing the trend it is expected that new arrival of cardamom will start 15 days late and if monsoon remains same in upcoming 5-10 days. then arrival of new cardamom may delayed for one month.
