European Wheat Prices Slightly Firmer
Peris: European benchmark wheat futures were slightly firmer on Wednesday, underpinned by stronger US markets and good export flows, but trade was restrained as some participants had left early ahead of Thursday's Ascension Day holiday. New-crop September milling wheat on the Paris Euronext market was up 0.25 euro or 0.1 percent at 161.50 euros a tonne at 1508 GMT. Front-month May, which expires next week, rose 0.25 euro or 0.1 percent to 150.50 euros.
Gold Jumps After U.S. Payrolls Data Misses Forecasts
NEW YORK/LONDON (Reuters) - Gold jumped 1 percent on Friday after U.S. non-farm payrolls data for April came in weaker than expected, boosting expectations the Federal Reserve will delay further interest rate increases.
71.7 Crore Tonne Global Wheat Production Estimated
According to United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization, Wheat production is estimated about 71.7 crore tonne in world in 2016-17. On the basis of good crop in Europe, Russia and Ukraine, Organisation estimated that 40 lakh tonne wheat production may improve this year. According to organization, this year global wheat production may be 71.7 crore tonne. However, it is still lower than last year’s 73.7 crore tonne. According to organization, carry over stock also improved by 1 million tonne. Production improved in Europe, Russian and Ukraine whereas on the other hand production fell in India due to drought. First of all droughts affected the crop in India and after that on the time of harvesting heavy rains again affected the production.

Uptrend in cardamom may continue in near term due to good export demand. According to traders, good demand is seeing from foreign country and on the other hand monsoon may also effect on cardamom production. Kerala is major producing centre of cardamom. There is no rain in kerala for long time and due to lack of water the production of cardamom may affect. |
